The Medbury School Swimming Sports was a fantastic day of competition, determination, and school spirit. Held at The Wharenui Sports Centre.
The event saw boys from Years 3 to 8 diving in to give their best in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, medley and relay races. One of the unique aspects of this event is that all students compete, regardless of their swimming ability, making it a true celebration of participation and effort.
The energy poolside was incredible, with students cheering on their peers and demonstrating great sportsmanship. It was inspiring to see every competitor push themselves, whether striving for a podium finish or simply challenging their personal best. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the staff vs. boys relay, an eagerly anticipated race that saw even the Headmaster take to the pool. In a thrilling finish, the boys narrowly secured victory over the staff this year, much to their delight!
House spirit was on full display throughout the day, particularly in the relays, where teamwork and determination played a crucial role. A huge thank you to the staff, parents, and volunteers who made the event possible. Your support ensured a well-run and enjoyable day for all involved.
Well done to all our swimmers—you represented Medbury with great effort and enthusiasm.
